The most recent long distance touring model made by OPTIMA is the ORCA, especially designed for trekking. This bike features a combination of a low seat for easy access, plus off-road capability due to its dual 26" wheels. Because of its wheel size a wide choice of tyres is worldwide available. The frame and rear swing arm are made out of oversized heat treated aluminium; this makes the ORCA very stiff and rigid. The well-known Dutch outdoor magazine "Op Pad" concluded that the ORCA would be the best choice for a trip to wherever changing road conditions would be encountered. The bike feels at home on the pavement as well as in the African savannah. With the arrival of the ORCA, extreme recumbent holidays are within reach of anyone. The Orca is available as an under seat or above seat steering model.
